Ravenscroft Motor Group was founded in 1979 by the late Roger & Gloria Ravenscroft and at that time the company specialised in roadside repair and recovery services for motorcycles, cars, vans and commercial vehicles.
The offices, workshops and vehicle storage compound were located in the town of Fleet in Hampshire, where the company continues to have strong connections today.
The business has grown significantly since its modest beginnings over 40 years ago and during the past 20 years has experienced a period of remarkable change. Growth strategies have enabled the business to add complementary activities which today include vehicle transportation, Ministry of Transport (MOT) testing of cars and motorcycles, vehicle servicing and repairs. The business has also invested in commercial properties to support the Group's ongoing investment in their motor related activities.
Through a combination of strategic acquisition and the success of their programme for organic growth, they have grown to be one of the UK's leading independent motoring assistance operators.
Their vehicle service workshops and MOT testing facilities have also seen significant redevelopment and investment and these activities have enabled the company to successfully broaden the services offered.
Ravenscroft Motor Company Limited was formed in March 2000 to initially focus on the next phase of expansion of the roadside assistance services of the 'Group'.
The Service & MOT Centre (which in 2000 continued to trade under the Ravenscroft Motor Group name) were acquired by their Limited company in 2006 and continues to support their customers in Fleet and the surrounding area.
April 2012 saw the latest phase of expansion for the roadside assistance division, with the acquisition of the business associated with the Millbrook & Ferndown Depots of Boarhunt Group Limited and today the business supports customers from Surrey & Berkshire though Hampshire & Dorset and across the southern region.
They understand that being the best at what they do will no longer guarantee business from their customers. Today the delivery of great service must be achieved at keener than ever pricing.
Escalating costs have further focussed their attention on best working practices and they maintain a cost monitoring programme which has enabled them to consistently deliver quality products & services, whilst delivering the lower price levels that their customers seek.
Today, the Company is led by Managing Director Gary Aitkins and a team of management professionals including Roger's eldest son Steve, who oversees the roadside assistance operations. The Company's full range of activities, which include commercial property rental, are overseen by Chairman, Bob Constable.
The willingness to embrace change has always characterised Ravenscroft Motors and they are prepared to meet the ongoing challenges presented by the ever challenging market conditions. Whilst their modernisation programme has benefited all of today's operating divisions, they have not lost sight of their traditional values.
They possess the necessary decisiveness to progress their vision & that is their strength.
